Puzzle 1: Seeing the inhabitants of His Gokula rendered unconscious by onslaught of hail and blasting wind, the Supreme Lord Hari understood that this is the work of angry Indra. Thus Hari decided to give protection to His devotees and picked up the Govardhana Hill with one hand and held it aloft just as easily as a child holds up a mushroom. He invited all the inhabitants including the cows to take shelter under the hill. Lord Hari assured him of full protection. Their minds thus pacified by Lord Krishna, they all entered beneath the hill, where they found ample room for themselves and all their cows, wagons, servants and priests, for all other members of the community as well. Lord Krishna, forgetting hunger and thirst and putting aside all considerations of personal pleasure, stood there holding up the hill for seven days as the people of Vraja gazed upon him.

Puzzle 2: Once Vasudeva arranged for Bhaguri Muni to perform a yajna for the protection of Krishna and Balarama. The yajna was taken place at Govinda-kunda in Govardhana. Suksmadhi the pet parrot of Srimati Radha Rani informed Her of the most auspicious ceremony. So Srimati Radha Rani along with her very close associates was bringing pots of ghee and other such milk products for the purpose of the yajna. At least that was their excuse; in actuality, whatever they did was always to make Krishna’s beautiful pastimes more and more pleasing. Krishna’s parrot informed Him that Srimati Radha Rani was on Her way to Govinda-Kunda. So here Krishna again in the role of a toll collector blocked the path of Srimati Radha Rani. Krishna Said, “I have come to extract the taxes you owe. So many times you pass this way with the goods of milk products and all these days you have not paid any taxes to the king. Today you must pay the tax.” A beautiful debate took place between Radha Rani and Her friends and Krishna and His friends.
