The Killing of the Demon Putana and Trinavarta

Puzzle 1: One-day Putana arrived from outer space in Gokula at the house of Nanda Maharaja disguising herself as a beautiful woman. She entered Krishna’s bedroom. Enchanted by the influence of yogamaya and the Personality of Godhead. Putana took Krishna upon her lap, and neither Rohini nor Yasoda objected. The demon Putana offered her breast for Krishna to suck, but her breast was smeared with a terrible poison. The child Krishna therefore, squeezed Putana’s breast so severely that in unbreakable pain she had to assume her original body and fell to the ground. Then Krishna began playing on her breast just like a small child.

Puzzle 2: By Kamsa’s instigation his servant a demon named Trinavarta came to Vrindavan. The demon acting as a strong whirlwind covered everyone’s vision with particles of dust and carried away Krishna into the air, making a great fearful sound. The demon took Krishna very high in the sky, but when Krishna became heavier he had to stop his force and called go no further. Because of Krishna’s weight, Trinavarta considered him to be a great mountain and was unable to bare the child nor cast aside the burden.
