Presented by Abhay Charan Games, this classic jigsaw puzzle depicts the dramatic pastime of the killing of Pūtanā, the wicked demoness sent by Kaṁsa to harm baby Kṛṣṇa. Disguised as a beautiful woman, Pūtanā entered Gokula and came before little Kṛṣṇa as if she were a loving mother. She offered Him her breast, but it had been smeared with deadly poison. The baby Lord, however, is the protector of all. Kṛṣṇa not only drank the poison, but also took away Pūtanā’s very life. Crying out in terrible pain, she returned to her gigantic demoniac form and fell to the ground. Yet because Kṛṣṇa accepted her like a mother, she was purified and received great mercy. This wonderful pastime teaches that the Lord protects His devotees and can transform even danger into blessing.
